Bogus Basin Lifesports Program

Bogus Basin Life Sports Program - January 2020

***FULL - Signing up now will place your student on the waitlist***

Come and join us to take advantage of Bogus Basin's fantastic "Life Sports" program.  In this four week enrichment program offered through Sage, your child will complete a 1.5 hour group lesson, along with receiving a day lift ticket and equipment rental. After their lesson, they will have 2 hours of ski time to practice their skills.  Sage provides a ride from Sage to Bogus Basin and back, along with limited supervision (See prerequisites below). If your child already has a pass and equipment, they can catch a ride with Sage up and down the mountain.

Please don't wait to reserve your child's spot as this popular program fills up fast!

Days: Friday Dates: January 10, 17, 24, 31st, 2020

Grades:
3rd grade and up

Prerequisites:  Students have to be self-sufficient on the mountain.  During the free ski time, students must be able to get on and off the lifts with assistance only from the "lifties", as well as be able to self-rescue on the hill (ie. get up off the snow and stand back up on their skis).  Students have to be mature enough to keep track of time and hold themselves to a schedule without direct supervision.  Each day has four to five teacher chaperones, but with 60 total participants, chaperones cannot directly supervise all students at all times.

Times: Please meet at Sage at 9:15 each Friday to begin taking attendance at the bus.  We will depart at 9:30am daily.  We plan to return to Sage at 5:00pm, but this time depends on traffic and students being timely on the mountain when it is time to leave.

Cost: $220 for 4 week session with Lesson and Rental
$180 for 4 week session with Lesson Only
$20 a day for Ride Only Option

For the Ride Only Option, it is possible to select dates out of the four week window.  For the lessons, you have to sign up and pay for all 4.  It is not possible to select daily lessons or rentals.

Availability:  Like all Sage Expeditions, acceptance to the program is based on a one-time lottery.  It is not dependent on who signs up first.  We went to this model to be more equitable to all students, parents, and families.  Please read more about this change on our main page

To be enrolled in the lottery, please fill out Sage's Registration Form.  The lottery will take place on Thursday, December 5th and parents will be notified of their status on Friday, December 6th.  If accepted, parents will need to fill out the Risk Waiver and Bogus Basin Form which will be sent in your email confirmation.  Failure to send the paperwork back in a timely manner will result in forfeiture of your student's spot.

Gear:  The following items are mandatory.  PLEASE make sure all items are labeled with your student's name and phone number.  Self-organization/responsibility is fundamental to this trip.

Snow pants or bibs
Boots
Goggles (these are mandatory)
Long under shirt and pants
Coat or Jacket
Warm Hat
Warm Socks
Gloves
Water Bottle or Camelbak
